My Early Life Experience By Michelle Norris My mind was racing. Why did it hurt so much? What was going to happen? As I sat on the road in tears I started to realize what had happened. I fell off the bike. I was hurt. It is one of the things I remember best from my childhood. I was about 4 and at the time, I lived in California. I wasn’t aloud to ride my older brother’s bike, but everyone knows that being told you can’t do something doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t. So I did it, I mean the bike looked so big and shiny. When I first took off on it, things seemed okay. That feeling of security didn’t last for long though. I was so little and the bike seemed so big all of a sudden. I started to swerve and before you know it, I’m on the ground. I started to cry and scream not really realizing what was happening or what had happened. I ran inside to my mom and then I saw it, my chin, all busted up. It was horrible; I never realized someone’s chin could, well, open. I got taken to the hospital and I got stitches and that wasn’t a very pleasant experience either. It seemed incredibly wrong for someone to be sowing up something on my face. A little while later, while my chin was still healing, I was playing with my older brother and sister. I would sit in the toy box while they rocked it back and forth; always a very fun and entertaining game believe it or not. Then it happened, they rocked the toy box a bit too far and I hit the side of my parent’s dresser. I was hit square on my chin and I realized 1. That it hurt badly 2. That I might have to get stitches again. So I did the very obvious thing, I cried; a lot. And my first thoughts turned out to be correct. A little bit later, there I was in the hospital to get stitches, again. So that’s how it happened that I ended up at the hospital twice in one year. And THAT is my story. CrAzYcAtS
